Market Commentary
Market Stance: BULLISH (since October 31, 2005)
Last week, the market was mixed, but Deen Capital accounts scored a
spectacular gain. We've enjoyed excellent market conditions since late
October, and this rally has persisted long enough now for our accounts to
gain some traction. We have an excellent portfolio, and I believe our
stocks still have considerable upside potential -- so long as market
conditions continue to be favorable.
That, of course, is the key. When the market turns, I want to detect
that turn as quickly as possible and then to reduce our exposure to
stocks drastically. Scoring big gains, as we have recently, is
meaningful only if we do not give them back during the next bear market.
As I wrote last week: "I remain alert for signs of an important top, as I
re-evaluate market conditions daily, but right now I see no such sign. My
three primary technical indicators remain unanimously and unambiguously
bullish. We are in the sweet spot."
