Market Commentary
Market Stance: BULLISH (since October 31, 2005)
We are experiencing ideal market conditions here, which I am hopeful will
last through the end of the year and into January. Our accounts are now
more than twice as volatile, statistically, as the S&P 500. This
volatility is starting to pay off, as last week we again handily
outperformed the market on a solid up week. One of our stocks, PWEI,
which I bought just one week ago, is already up more than 40%!
Market internals continue to improve, and my three primary technical
indicators continue to be solidly and unanimously bullish. The falling
price of oil also is helping.
In my view, there is considerable value in stocks these days, as earnings
have been growing at a double-digit pace while stock prices have remained
stagnant for quite some time now.
With our accounts so heavily invested and so statistically volatile, I
would expect even larger swings in our portfolio value in the coming
weeks, so long as I remain bullish.
I see considerable further upside potential for the stocks we now own.
Perhaps we are finally getting some traction, after spinning our wheels
for most of the year.
