Tech stocks and the NASDAQ once again "led" the market, with semiconductor stocks pacing the NASDAQ. Only this time, it was to the downside. The S&P lost 0.3%; the NASDAQ, 2.1%; semiconductor stocks [SMH], -3.8%; and my IRA, -3.1%. My primary indicators are still bullish -- though my Performance-of- Recent-Stock-Picks Index fell from +9.0 to +5.8. +5.8 is still solidly bullish, but the downward change raises a yellow caution flag. I'm paying particularly close attention to the action in leading groups such as the semiconductors. When the market's leadership falters, as it did last week, it could be an early warning sign of bigger trouble ahead. I'm still bullish, and I think that most likely this is just a minor bump in the road. Even so, I will at least consider taking some "chips" off the table next week, as it were.
